Is it a constant rush to get ready, get in the car and arrive on time to school and work?

Some mornings are totally like this for me!

I am a morning person, but each of my children is very different in the morning. I am sure your family is probably the same.

I have recently come across the idea of a Miracle Morning and this is awesome for adults but for children not so much…

So I thought of making a list of 6 Tips for you to create your own Miracle Morning Routine.

What Is A Miracle Morning Routine?

A "miracle morning" is a term coined by Hal Elrod, the author of "The Miracle Morning." He defines a miracle morning as starting your day with a specific routine that you will do every day.

This routine can be anything from reading for 30 minutes to doing yoga for 20 minutes. It all depends on what you want to achieve in your life and how much time you have on hand.

Now that sounds great and all but would my kids do that..fat chance!

To be honest, I do get up an hour before everyone else, walk the dog, do my workout routine, and do my 5 minutes meditation. This is a way for me to be by myself, and work on my fitness and it is my therapy, it makes me feel great.

With kids though my miracle morning routine is a set of activities in the morning to get everyone ready on time and avoid tantrums and ensure everyone at least has:

-clean clothes to wear

-lunch and snacks

-had breakfast

-what they need in their bags

-everyone is happy

    What Are The Benefits Of A Miracle Morning Routine

    The reason that people have morning routines is that they help them start the day off on the right foot. They are designed to help people feel more productive and happy with themselves. When everything goes right in the routine in the morning I am more:

    A morning routine is an important part of a person’s day. It sets the tone for the rest of the day and helps you feel energized, ready to take on new challenges, and be productive. I also feel morning relaxed and a better parent. When things don’t go by the routine, which can happen, I can feel stressed and out of control. This is why I need different methods to get people back onto the routine again 😊

    When my kids go through their routines I notice they are more relaxed and more positive for the day ahead.

      6 Tips For Creating Your Own Miracle Morning Routine.

      1. Make Sure Everyone Gets Enough Sleep

      This one can be really hard, especially when you have kids. Sometimes, they don’t feel like going to sleep. Sometimes they wake up in the middle of the night. Sometimes they can be too stimulated by screens and noise. Sometimes it could be something they had to drink or eat. An established bedtime routine can help to ensure everyone gets enough sleep. It is recommended to avoid screens an hour before bed and also liquids and sugar 😊 If everyone does get enough sleep it should make getting up in the mornings a lot easier and more pleasant.

        2. Go To Bed and Wake Up At Specific Times

        This is a great way to get your body clock in order.

        Your body clock is the natural time-keeping system that regulates the sleep and wake cycle. This natural rhythm can be disrupted by many factors, including irregular sleep patterns, light exposure, stress, and even jet lag.

        Sleep is a necessity for our well-being. In order to wake up feeling refreshed and energised, it is necessary to sleep at the right time.
        If you go to bed and waking up at specific times will help in the morning routine.

          3. Avoid Distractions

          We are bombarded with distractions every morning, and it is important to avoid them if we want to have a productive day.

          In the morning, our mind is like a sponge. It absorbs everything that surrounds it and any input can cause us to be distracted.

          The first thing we should do when we wake up is to turn off all electronics that might distract us from our routine. We also need to make sure that there are no other distractions in the room or in the house.

          Our dog and central bearded dragon are a big distraction in the morning for my kids, so I need to constantly remind the kids no playing until they are completely ready for school.

          4. Eat Breakfast Within 30 Minutes of Waking Up

          The importance of breakfast cannot be overstated. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. It provides fuel for your body and brain, helps control appetite, and can help you maintain a healthy weight.

          Most people know that they should eat breakfast within 30 minutes in the morning routine but it's not always easy to do so.

          Ensure breakfast is high in protein and whole grains to help keep full and be energised for the day ahead

          5. Find What Makes You and Your Kids Happy

          It is not always easy to get up in the morning. But it is important to set a routine that you and your children will be happy with. What can you do to make sure that your mornings are a little bit more enjoyable?

          A routine should be something that makes you and your kids happy. It should be something that they look forward to, not something they dread.

          My kids love me coming upstairs and tickling them. Sometimes I don’t feel like doing it, I’m human, however it makes them laugh and it is the quickest way to get them out of bed. My daughter is not a morning person, so if she is not in the greatest moods playing her favourite music usually gets her up and keeping to the routine. I also love music in the morning. I cook my son bacon and eggs in the morning and I occasionally cook extra bacon for me. It is important you are happy and do little things that give you joy in the morning too!

          5. Have Lunches Planned For The Week Ahead

          Having lunches planned isn’t always easy. But having at least an idea and the products to make your and/or your kid's lunches will make the morning routine run a lot smoother. Also if you have snacks ready to just put into the kid's lunchboxes can also help, even better get your kids to do them! Having planned lunches will allow you to make smart decisions about your food, save money, and the family can eat healthier.

          Some steps I do is pre-make muffins either from scratch or a packet. I also have about 6 lunches I rotate around each week it all depends on how much time you have either at night or in the morning. Below is a free meal planner to help you plan out your week.

          Creating your own miracle morning routine can help you get your day started in a very productive way. It is not only about the physical benefits, but also the mental and emotional benefits. It is a great way to help establish healthy and positive habits in general. If you can make a habit out of doing something good in the morning, then there’s a chance you will keep that relaxed positive mood throughout the rest of the day as well.
